As of 1 December 2017, the Tanzanian government will be increasing the concession fees for all permanent accommodation based inside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Currently the amount being paid by the affected lodges varies from accommodation to accommodation, and so we understand the Tanzanian government wants to make this amount the same for each lodge, setting it at US$ 50 + 18% VAT per person, per night.

We are still liaising with our Tanzanian partners to understand what increase this will mean for our Tanzanian itineraries.  We expect US$ 50 + 18% VAT would be the maximum increase per person, per night; but this may be less.

This increase in concession fee increase applies to all confirmed safaris departing 1 December, 2017 onward.  We are still awaiting further information and will update guests as soon as we can.
