11-day Botswana Lodge/Mobile Safari (Authentic)

Our popular 11-day Botswana and Lodge Mobile Safari itinerary is a combination of tented camps, lodges and fully-serviced mobile tenting.  Beginning with a flight from Maun into Oddball Enclave for two nights, you will experience a part of the Okavango Delta, not accessible by mobile safari. From Oddball Enclave, you fly straight to Khwai where you meet your  guide and settle into camp without having to lift a finger.  Tents are spacious (3m x 3m) with an en-suite. All tents are pre-erected by our staff with en-suite facilities and full board for the next six nights of fully-serviced mobile safari covering the Khwai, Savuti and Chobe areas. Your guide and a backup team (camp assistants/chefs) set up and break-down each camp, cooking meals, etc.

Day 1 – 2 : Okavango Delta

Upon arrival into Maun Airport you will be met and assisted with the check in for your light aircraft flight into the Okavango Panhandle, staying at Kala' Camp for 2 nights.
Activities: bush walks and mokoro excursions (depending on water levels).

Day 3 – 4 : Moremi Game Reserve

You will be transferred by light aircraft from Oddball's Enclave Camp to Khwai Airstrip, where you will meet your guide and team for your mobile safari.  The next two days will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region. Game drives in the early morning as the sun rises and in the late afternoon as the sun sets will be the norm.  Camping will be in private designated campsites with ensuite bush ablutions on every tent.

Day 5 – 6 : Savuti, Chobe National Park

Today we head to Chobe National Park.  With its diverse and striking landscapes, we continue our search for wildlife, in the drier region of Savuti where bull elephants dot the plains. Savuti is very well known for its predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and even African wild dog. The Savuti Channel has started flowing again after being dry for the last 30 years. The arrival of water is changing the landscape as well as accommodating different species which historically have not been able to survive in the rather arid plains of Savuti. This exciting event has allowed large breeding herds of elephant as well as buffalo to visit the area. Camping will be in private designated campsites with ensuite bush ablutions on every tent.

Day 7 – 8 : Chobe River Front

We head northwards to the Chobe River where your game drives will meander along the banks of the river, followed by the call of the majestic African Fish Eagle. The Chobe River Floodplain is an amazing game viewing area where water attracts large herds of buffalo, elephant, zebra and other herbivores. Due to the proliferation of prey, predators are likely to be close at hand. Sun sets in this region as always spectacular and allow amazing photographic opportunities.  Camping will be in private designated campsites with ensuite bush ablutions on every tent.

Day 9 – 10 : Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

After an early morning game-drive (time permitting) and breakfast, you will be transferred and assisted through the Botswana/Zimbabwe border to Ilala Lodge Hotel, where you will stay for 2 nights.  After arriving at your accommodation and completing check-in procedures, spend the balance of your stay at leisure.
