The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has decided to increase gorilla and chimpanzee permit prices as of 1 July, 2020. This decision will affect existing and new products and experiences in some of the country’s protected areas, most notably gorilla and chimpanzee tracking. Gorilla Tracking permits in Bwindi and Mahinga will increase by US$ 100. Currently US$ 600 per permit, this will increase to US$ 700 per permit. Chimpanzee Tracking permits in Kibale National Park will also increase. Currently US$ 150 per permit, this will increase to US$ 200 per permit. Chimpanzee Habituation Experiences will also increase to US$ 250 from the current US$ 200. These increases will take affect as of 1st of July 2020. Bookings already paid in full and taking part in these experiences before the date above will not be subject to the new fees. This is the most up-to-date information we have from UWA.
