New visa requirement for Namibia

Namibia Visa Application

As of 1 April 2025, all citizens of countries that do not reciprocate a visa waiver with Namibia will require a visa to enter Namibia.

Starting immediately, nationals from a select group of countries can now apply for their visas online or upon arrival in Namibia (from 1 April 2025), the earlier, the more efficient and expedient. We strongly encourage all qualifying visitors to process this online before arrival.

Nationalities not eligible for VOA must apply in advance with the required documents.

You require a valid passport with 6 months validity and 3 blank pages.

In summary, here are the guidelines:

  • Go to https://eservices.mhaiss.gov.na/visaonarrival
  • Scroll down to E-Services and click VISA ON ARRIVAL (here the countries supported on the platform are listed).
  • Click NEW VISA ON ARRIVAL APPLICATION.
  • Create an account.
  • Then follow the processes.
  • Once these are accepted proceed and SUBMIT PAYMENT (N$ 1600 per person).
  • Print your E-Visa Permit with the QR code for presentation on arrival in Namibia.
  • In Namibia you’ll need to complete and sign a presented arrival form and present this to an immigration official..

To complete the online process, you will require:

  • A valid passport with 6 months validity and 3 blank pages.
  • Confirmation of accommodation and travel bookings/plans (your Ultimate Safaris Journeysmith can assist with a document – only hotel arrangements for the first and last night of their holiday needs to be presented.It is not required to upload all details of their safari).
  • Return ticket (proof of onward ticket)
  • Confirmation of Medical/Travel Insurance in English. It is mandatory to have travel insurance (a standard cover suffices) and guests may be asked to present proof of this on arrival in Namibia.
  • Confirmation of adequate funds (this is merely a confirmation click. We recommend stating N$1000 in cash and rest on credit and debit cards. No statements or further proof is required).
  • Full birth certificate and parental consent letter if travelling with children.
