The Government of Zanzibar has introduced a MANDATORY inbound travel insurance requirement for all foreigners visiting the Spice Islands of Zanzibar.
This insurance requirement is effective from the 01st of October 2024 for all foreigners arriving into Zanzibar via its sea-ports and airports.
Key Points:
Mandatory Travel Insurance: Starting October 1st, 2024, all foreign travelers entering Zanzibar must possess valid travel insurance for the duration of their stay.
Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC): Travel insurance can only be obtained through Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC).
Obtaining Insurance: Travelers will receive a QR code before embarking on their journey to Zanzibar. This QR code will allow them to purchase insurance through ZIC.
