The boutique-style Zambezi Queen houseboat is based on the Chobe River, in the Caprivi region situated between Namibia and the famed Chobe National Park in Botswana. The Zambezi Queen offers an exclusive African river safari with morning and afternoon game and bird viewing in tender boats, that offer guests a unique view of the Chobe National Park with its teeming wildlife, large population of elephants and over 400 species of birds. The houseboat has set departures with two night cruises scheduled every Monday & Wednesday and three night cruises departing every Friday.

The movement of the Zambezi Queen is subject to seasonal fluctuations of the Chobe River water levels as well as prevailing wind conditions.  Although she may be able to leisurely traverse up to a maximum of 25 km per day, in instances where water levels are either too low or too high, or if winds in excess of 11 knots blow along the river, the houseboat will remain stationary at one of its mooring points.  However, unless conditions on the river are extreme, the tender boats still conduct the daily game viewing safaris.

The first and second levels of the boat incorporate 14 double or twin cabins, all having their own private balconies. There are 4 master suites and 10 standard cabins. All suites have air conditioning for extra comfort during the summer heat.  The whole boat has mosquito screening. The top deck has a dining room, lounge area, and wood burning fireplace, a bar and pool with a sunbathing area. The main lounge area has a library, games and a telescope for both game viewing and stargazing (the latter subject to the movement of the houseboat being minimal).

Activities include water-based game viewing on tender boats, tiger fish and bream fishing in season, bird watching from the main and tender boats as well a cultural visit to a local village.  Game drives into Chobe National Park can be booked in advance at an additional cost.

Airport Transfer Time: 90 minutes from Kasane Airport (Including immigration formalities and boat transfers)
