15-day Kruger, Chobe and Victoria Falls Adventure

On this small group 15-day Kruger, Chobe and Victoria Falls Adventure you will explore the scenic Panorama Route of the Blyde River canyon area and enjoy game drives and walks in the untamed Timbavati Reserve (Greater Kruger National Park), Hwange National Park and Chobe National Park. Experience Venda Culture and the amazing Bushman paintings of the Motopos. And, witness the majestic Victoria Falls and end with a breath-taking sunset on a Chobe River Cruise. A true wildlife and cultural experience in Southern Africa!  This tour uses three to four star lodges, all with private en-suite facilities. One staff member takes care of the driving and guiding and hosting the clients while on tour. All breakfasts and dinners are enjoyed in the lodges.

Full Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 : Johannesburg

From ORT International Airport take the shuttle to the starting hotel. The day is free and the tour starts with a pre departure meeting at 18h00 in the reception of the hotel. Overnight at Peermont Metcourt or similar. (Accommodated. Dinner own account).

Day 2 : Hazyview

Distance : 400kms (6hrs)
Departing Johannesburg after breakfast we travel the scenic panorama route to our boutique hotel located at the Lowveld. Overnight at Hippo Hollow Country Estate (or similar). (Accommodated – B. Dinner own account).

Day 3 – 4 : Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

Distance : 200kms (4hrs)
The morning is spent viewing the spectacular Blyde River Canyon, Gods Window viewpoint and Bourkes Luck Potholes, en-route to the famous Timbavati Private Game Reserve situated in the Greater Kruger National Park. Shindzela tented safari camp provides guests with a true safari experience in a private game reserve – an ideal way to make the most of your Kruger safari holiday. Day 3 we enjoy a late afternoon game drive and Day 4 we enjoy a morning and afternoon game drives in search of the many animals inhabiting the reserve.  Overnight Shindzela Tented Camp or similar. Day 5 – 6 : Kruger National Park

Distance : 350kms (7hrs)
We exit Timbavati and enter Kruger National Park at Phalaborwa gate. A full day is spent game driving north through the park exiting at Pafuri Gate. From our lodge in the Limpopo Province we experience a taste of the local Venda culture. Day 5 we have dinner in a nearby cave. Day 6 is an early start with a walk to view some rock paintings and returning to camp for breakfast. We then depart on a full day cultural tour which includes a visit to a local village, tavern and school. Dinner is enjoyed in Venda style in the local village. Overnight Awelani Camp (or similar). Day 7 – 8 : Matobo National Park

Distance : 450kms (8hrs)
An early departure takes us 2 hours to Beit Bridge border post where we cross into Zimbabwe. Entering Zimbabwe we travel to our lodge located on the edge of the World Heritage site - Matopos National Park. The following day is spent on a historic trek to Rhodes grave and walks to renowned caves and Bushman paintings. Our lodge is set within the large granite boulders of the Matopos.  Overnight Camp Amalinda (or similar). (Accommodated – B & D. Lunch on Day 8 included)

Day 9 – 10 : Hwange National Park

Distance : 320kms (5hrs)
Travelling through Zimbabwe we arrive early afternoon at Hwange National Park. We enjoy a late afternoon open 4x4 vehicle game drive in the private concession bordering Hwange National Park. The following morning we enjoy another game drive in the concession and in the afternoon relax at the lodge or an optional game drive (own expense). Overnight Ivory Lodge (or similar). Day 11 – 12 : Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Distance : 180kms (3hrs)
We arrive midday to Victoria Falls - without doubt one of the greatest and most spectacular sights in Africa (entrance own account). The days are free to browse the local markets and to experience the many optional activities on offer in the adrenalin capital of Africa including helicopter flights over the Falls, white water rafting, sunset boat cruise etc (own expense). Overnight Cresta Sprayview Hotel (or similar accommodation). (Accommodated – B. Dinners own account)

Day 13 – 14 : Chobe River Front

100kms (2hrs)
Crossing into Botswana we travel to Kasane and our lodge situated on the banks of the Chobe River. Chobe is famous for its beautiful scenery, magnificent sunsets and abundance of wildlife and birdlife. The following day is spent on an early morning game drive in Chobe National Park and a sunset game viewing boat cruise on the Chobe River. Overnight Chobe Safari Lodge (or similar).
