On our 15-day Ultimate East African Tented Camp Safari, you will experience it all starting from fantastic wildlife watching to the impressive land and the lifestyle of the people. In Tanzania you will visit Lake Manyara National Park, the Serengeti, Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro Crater, staying in tented camps. Travel between the camps will be by road in a customised 4WD vehicle. In Kenya you will be stay in award winning eco-camps that are authentic, with a rustic charm combined with creature comforts, such as private bathrooms with flush toilets. Each camp is situated within a private wildlife conservancy for an intimate safari experience away from hordes of minibuses and crowds of tourists. You fly by light aircraft between the camps and will be game-viewing in open-sided 4WD game viewing escorted by top class guides. By staying in these exclusive wildlife conservancies, you will be away from the hordes of tourist minibuses.
Day 1: Ilboru Safari Lodge, Arusha
Arrive Kilimanjaro Airport where you are met and transferred to your hotel located a short distance from Arusha Town Centre.
Day 2: Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp, Lake Manyara National Park
Morning at leisure and safari briefing followed by lunch. Afternoon you depart Arusha passing through the Masai Steppe filled with many picturesque African villages as well as maize, coffee and banana plantations. At the town of Makuyuni you turn North West and continue the village of Mto wa Mbu where you will find your camp ready to welcome you for your relaxing stay. Overnight at Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp on full board basis
Day 3: Kati Kati Tented Camp, Central Serengeti
After breakfast, there is a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park that returns to the lodge for lunch. Leaving Lake Manyara behind, the journey continues North West across the stunning hilly countryside of the highlands which is filled with wheat and coffee plantations, and then into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From here lie the vast plains of the Serengeti, where you begin spotting wildlife as you approach the entrance gate. Complete the formalities and enter the park with game viewing en route to the lodge arriving for dinner. Overnight at Kati Kati Camp on a full board basis.
Day 4: Kati Kati Tented Camp, Central Serengeti
Morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park. Overnight at Kati Kati Camp on a full board basis.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Farm House, Karatu
After breakfast depart for Ngorongoro viewing game across the vast Serengeti plains, stopping off en route for your picnic lunch. You then continue your journey towards Ngorongoro where you pass along the rim of the crater and descend to the park gate and your lodge located in Karatu surrounded by farmland and a view of the back wall of the crater. Day 6: Ngorongoro Farm House, Karatu
A highlight awaits you this morning as you depart to explore what is commonly referred to as the World’s largest natural wildlife arena. After breakfast, you descend with a picnic lunch through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the crater. Ngorongoro Crater is the World’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Due to its size and diversity, the crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. A truly unique wildlife experience. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon. Overnight at Ngorongoro Farmhouse / Tloma Lodge on a full board basis.
Day 7: Lake Burunge Tented Camp, Lake Burunge
Departing Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast, heading south east past Lake Manyara and Mto wa Mbu village. Through the highlands and the Karatu district, viewing the scenic wheat plains and coffee plantations here before journeying down the spectacular escarpment where you turn south on to the main Arusha – Dodoma road. Arrive at the camp for lunch and then travel a short distance to the Tarangire Park Gate where the afternoon is spent game viewing. Immerse in the views of the Tarangire River, large population of wildlife around the Silale swamps and the majestic baobab trees the park is so famous for. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Lake Burunge Tented Camp on a full board basis.
Day 8: Eka Hotel, Nairobi
Depart after breakfast and head north east to Arusha. The journey will pass through the Masai Steppe filled with many picturesque African villages as well as maize, coffee and banana plantations. On arrival in Arusha lunch is provided followed by transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport to connect international departure flight (not included). On arrival in Nairobi, you will be met and transferred to Eka Hotel.
Day 9: Amboseli Camp, Selenkay Conservancy
Pick-up from your hotel at 06:00 hours and transfer by light aircraft to Porini Amboseli Camp, arriving at camp before lunch. Following afternoon tea, you will be escorted on a walk by Masai warriors to a village to get an insight into their fascinating culture and way of life. Then take a game drive in the conservancy followed by a sundowner at a scenic spot overlooking Kilimanjaro. Night game drive and return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Amboseli Camp, Selenkay Conservancy
Morning and afternoon game-drives in Selenkay Conservation Area, Amboseli. Opportunity to do a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and other species. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Rhino Camp, Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Early breakfast and then drive through Amboseli park to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight at 09:00 hours to Wilson Airport. From there you will connect onto the 10:20 hour flight to Nanyuki (arriving at 11.30 hours). You will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Porini Rhino Camp, located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, in the foothills of Mount Kenya. Lunch and afternoon tea in camp and then head off on a game drive with your driver-guide in the camp’s 4×4 safari vehicle. Return to Porini Rhino Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Rhino Camp, Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Morning and afternoon game-drives in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Other optional activities include the below. These can be discussed with your guide at the camp and payable locally.
Day 13: Lion Camp, Olare Motorogi Conservancy
After breakfast, depart Porini Rhino Camp and to connect with your light aircraft flight from Nanyuki at 09.45 hours to the Masai Mara, arriving at 11.00 hours. You will be met at the Naboisho Ol Seki airstrip by Porini Bush Camp staff and transferred to camp. Settle into your tent and enjoy lunch prepared by the camp chef. Afternoon game drive in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy, with a sundowner at a scenic spot followed by a night game drive with spotlights to search for nocturnal animals, including the elusive leopards which are resident in Olare Motorogi Conservancy, before heading back to camp for dinner.
Day 14: Lion Camp, Olare Motorogi Conservancy

Day 15: End of Itinerary
Final early morning game drive, breakfast and then transfer to the airstrip for the 11:00 hours flight to Nairobi’s Wilson airport (arriving at 12.15 hours). A later departure can be arranged should you have a late-night flight out of Nairobi International Airport.
