15-day Botswana Adventure

On this 15-day Botswana Adventure you traverse Botswana, enjoying game viewing and camping in the wild Moremi game reserve, mokoro excursions and bush walks in the Okavango delta, wild animals and breath-taking sunsets on the Chobe River and Makgadigadi Pans. Witness the majestic Victoria Falls with its many adrenaline activities on offer and end with the wild game of the Tuli Wilderness area on the banks of the Limpopo River.  This camping tour is a Fully-Serviced whereby you can sit back, relax and take in the amazing scenery of Southern Africa while we take care of ALL your chores! You will not have to lift a finger as we prepare your meals, secure your tent and make sure we don’t leave a mess.  This tour is specially designed for seasoned (40+) travellers who want an overlanding adventure in the wild without the hassles of setting up camp after a long day on the road.

Full Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 : Johannesburg

A shuttle bus from ORT International Airport takes you to the starting hotel. The day is free and the tour starts with a pre departure meeting at 18h00 in the reception of the hotel.  Overnight at Peermont Metcourt (or similar). (Accommodated. Dinner own account).

Day 2 : Khama Rhino Sanctuary

Distance 620kms (8hrs)
An early departure from Johannesburg takes us through the province of Limpopo we cross the border into Botswana and set up camp at Khama Rhino Sanctuary. (Serviced Camping – B & D. Lunch own account)

Day 3 : Maun

Distance 510kms (7hrs)
Early morning clients can partake on an optional 2 hour game drive in search of the many white rhino inhabiting Khama Rhino Sanctuary. We then travel along the western edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans arriving in  Maun late afternoon. The evening is spent relaxing around the campfire and preparing for our 4x4 excursion into Moremi Wildlife Reserve the next day. (Serviced Camping – B, L, D)

Day 4 – 5 : Khwai Community Area

Distance 150kms (5hrs)
We change vehicles to our open sided 4x4 vehicles and arrive at Moremi by lunchtime. After lunch at South Gate we enter the park and travel to the Khwai area. This is a pure wilderness area of great beauty, with rich green vegetation, palm trees, teeming with birdlife and a vast population of wild animals. We enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives exploring the reserve in open 4x4 safari vehicles. Our private campsite is located inside the park where we set up bush toilets and bush showers.  (Serviced Camping - B, L, D)

Day 6 : Maun

Distance 100kms (4hrs)
After an early morning game drive we exit Moremi and travel back to Maun. The afternoon is free for a 1 hour scenic flight over the Okavango Delta (own expense). (Serviced Camping - B, L, D)

Day 7 : Maun

Today we enjoy a Mokoro excursion into the Okavango Delta. Depart Maun at 07h30 and road transfer approximately 1 -2 hours depending on water levels. Upon arrival at the mokoro boat station, a mokoro poler will be introduced to you and will be your boatman and guide throughout the excursion. We enjoy the Delta by Mokoro and nature / game walks. Mid afternoon road transfer back to Maun.  (Serviced Camping - B, L, D)

Day 8 – 9 : Chobe River Front

Distance 630kms (9hrs)
We continue through Botswana to Kasane and our camp is set up on the banks of the Chobe River. Chobe is famous for its beautiful scenery, magnificent sunsets and abundance of wildlife and birdlife. The following day sunset is enjoyed on a relaxing game viewing boat cruise on the Chobe River. Optional morning game drive in the Chobe National Park (own expense).  (Serviced Camping - B, L, D)

Day 10 – 11 : Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Distance 100kms (2hrs)
We travel across the Zimbabwe border to view Victoria Falls - one of the most spectacular sights in Africa. Days are spent at leisure to browse the local markets, to experience the many optional activities on offer in the adrenalin capital of Africa including white water rafting, bungi jumping, microlighting/ airplane or helicopter over the Falls and to visit the Falls (own expense). Overnight Sprayview Hotel (or similar) - (Accommodated - Breakfasts only).

Day 12 : Nata

Distance 400kms (7hrs)
Crossing back into Botswana we set up camp at Nata. We visit the Makgadikgadi Pans for a truly unforgettable sunset over what remains of an ancient 6500km2 lake. (Serviced Camping - B, L, D).

Day 13 – 14 : Northern Tuli Game Reserve

Distance 500kms (8hrs)
Traveling South we travel to the Tuli area of Botswana. It is a great wild game area that is unfenced as to preserve natural migratory patterns. We camp on the banks of the Limpopo River which forms the border to South Africa. Day 13 we enjoy a guided morning game walk and a late afternoon / evening game drive.  (Serviced Camping - B, L, D)

Day 15 : Departure

Distance 500kms (7hrs)
We exit Botswana and travel back to Johannesburg. Tour ends at 17h00 with drop off at Peermont Metcourt or ORT International Airport. (B)
