What our guests say

Quotes

The safari exceeded my expectations and my brother was overwhelmed by the experience and amazing people we met. The trip flowed with absolutely no problems and inter camp transfers went like clockwork.  Next time (and yes I hope to go again) I will ensure that the stay in each camp is three nights not two as two nights tend to create a bit of a rush.  Thanks so much for the effort you put into this itinerary for me and the lovely touch at the end when your representative met us in Maun.

Quotes

Andrews, Renee.jpgThe tour was great! From beginning to end, our guide Adam was brilliant. Knowledgeable but personable and very hardworking. There was also a lot to see within the 22 days although I do believe that doing the tour in the opposite direction (i.e from Cape Town to Zimbabwe) would've been better as there are more exciting activities in the opposite direction. Victoria Falls was a hub of tourist activity and had so many activities to choose from which was brilliant, my game drive through Chobe in Botswana was my favourite of all the game drives I took (and there were many), Namibia's landscapes were breath-taking & South Africa offered a nice taste of city life culture.  The accommodation and service in each and every place we stayed in was lovely.  Thanks again for all the organising and help. I'll keep you guys in mind for any future tours that I want to do!

Quotes

We really loved Africa and could easily return. For us it wasn't just about the awesome opportunity to see all the animals in their natural settings but it was the variety and vastness of the landscapes that wowed us! From flooded rivers in Botswana and Namibia surrounded by green lush bush and full of animals and bird life to the amazing serenity and beauty of the Agab terraces. Flying over the Namib desert with views of canyons and sculpted sand dunes and then the sense of achievement after climbing the dunes at Sossusvlei., glamping in the desert and the multitudes of stars to admire every night including our southern cross. The experience of feeling miles from anywhere after 500 km days on dirt roads but still being able to relax for the night in comfortable well serviced lodges with excellent food and service in yet another breath taking setting ! Each day brought something new to see or experience and we were consistently impressed. The tour was well organised and professional and our driver was professional , attentive and very knowledgeable and informative. We really appreciated the detail and information provided by Claire at African Safaris when we booked our tour and especially the email to the hosts of our first night accommodation enquiring after our well being and safe arrival in Africa .Well done Claire.

Young, Hilary1.JPGDavid and I were privileged to go on the 19-day Kenya and Tanzania Wildlife Safari, led by Claire Vial.  Despite my initial apprehension about doing a safari, within a few days I was full of enthusiasm and enjoyed every moment of this wonderful adventure.  The excitement we felt on seeing wild animals in their own environment, up close, was palpable in our happy group of 10.  The varied accommodation added to the interest especially the private wilderness camp sites which were in isolated parts of the national parks, where the night skies were spectacular.  Claire is a wonderful leader, full of information and always ready to provide any assistance needed. She anticipated our every need and was so well organised.  We cannot recommend an African Safari with Claire more highly.

elephant.JPGWe had a fabulous time, accommodation was excellent especially Treetops and Camp Kipwe We had a great group and Elvis was a fantastic guide.  Most places we felt like we were the only people in Namibia. We’ve all kept in touch on facebook and we’re all suffering Africa withdrawals. I’ve attached a few of my fave photos (yours are very good!) I only took about 2000! Hopefully we will have saved enough in a few years for another safari!

Quotes

Ants.jpgPut simply we had the best time possible and we both agree that our holiday ranks up there with the best holidays we have ever had, if not the best!  Nothing was too much for them and we loved meeting them all, the guys even changed the mattress on our bed because Allison found the first one very hard. The lodge was fantastic, beautiful and relaxing, comfortable and clean, the food was amazing and the all inclusive booze provided plenty of refreshing gin at the sundowner after the afternoon ride each day. Ant and Tess invited the group to have a sundowner by the pool at their house and we learnt loads about the rhino and the risk of poaching as well as the great work Tess and Ant do to protect them. Fred and Pippa were amazing hosts and looked after us very well and all of the guides were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

The guys matched us with horses that were just right for our capabilities which was great. In fact all of the horses we rode were very well behaved, as fit as fiddle and happy to get the adrenalin pumping when the group wanted to go for a good run.

Of course there was also the wildlife.... Rhino, Sable, Kudu, Impala, Ostrich, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Pumba's (warthog), Baboon, Giraffe, Zebra and many more... bush babies, Jackals the list goes on. Being on the horses allowed us to get very close to the wildlife which was amazing, we both loved every minute.

We loved every minute it was just so relaxing but at the same time very exciting, neither of us have smiled so much in a long while and we can't wait to go back.

macdonald.jpgWe had an absolutely amazing time – it far exceeded my expectations 200%+! I loved Kenya and camping in the conservancies – a much more authentic and personal experience, and seems to be directly contributing to the local people. Wilson, Melita, Jackson, Christopher and all the camp staff are delightful and so helpful. Bernard in Tanzania also amazing.  Thanks for recommending these trips.   Just trying to sort out photos now – quite a lot!

gorilla.jpgWe had a fabulous trip and loved all the places you found for us to stay. Our guide Moses was wonderful. We had a terrific gorilla trek and watched a 3 week old gorilla with his mother amongst the group we were with. We saw tree climbing lions mating one day in Queen Elizabeth park and the next day found 2 lionesses with 3 lion cubs who stole our hearts. Others on safari in the park for 3 days hadn't seen a single lion so we were exceptionally lucky. We had already had amazing game sightings in Kenya and were totally overwhelmed by the migration across the Mara.We would happily plan safaris with you in the future and given that we have promised many friends and family that we will take them next time, it seems likely to happen in 1-2 years when we can save enough money again!

mallalieu.jpegA once in a life time experience arranged for us by Claire. We embarked on our safari in Arusha, Tanzania and spent six wonderful, enlightening days with our guide Thomas.  The whole experience was most professionally handled and Thomas the ultimate guide and an excellent driver.

The safari took us via Lake Manyana to the Serengetti and the Ngorongoro Crater and without doubt surpassed our expectations. We were truly rewarded with every conceivable animal making  an appearance in huge numbers and almost within touching distance. Photograph opportunities were continuous. Not only the animals either for the amazing scenery everywhere is extraordinary, the Serengetti green and lush with abundant herds of zebra, elephant, giraffe and of course wildebeest. The latter treating us to a morning of their migration, half a million animals running, a magnificent sight and sound.

Accommodation everywhere was excellent with the most interesting being the Kati Kati tented camp where we spent 3 nights. Luxury en suite tents with comfortable beds and good showers. A real African experience with leopards in the trees behind and staff warding off elephants while we slept. We are sorry it's all over but it's something that will live in our memories forever. Again, many thanks!

Quotes

Thanks for the welcome back!   We had the MOST AMAZING time.  I will call you once I get through a couple more emails at work.  But you can rest assured we just loved it.  Saw heaps - animals, people, cultures.....LOVED EVERY SECOND.  And we missed hearing the hippos when we woke up this morning.   Attached are a quick couple of photos from my iPhone.  But I will sort out some from the camera and send them through to you when I get remotely organised.   Thanks for all your good work setting up this trip.  Everything was perfect and went so smoothly - as you promised.  We were totally well looked after. I really didn't need to think about anything other than taking it all in.  Sylvester was a big hit at the start - and then things just continued on in that way. A wonderful trip we will always treasure.  Thank you!!!!!!
