What our guests say

Our trip was absolutely amazing, the Tanzanian leg was awesome, our Guides Charles and Inuck were fantastic, they were very knowledgeable about the country and animals, and they seemed to be able to put us in the perfect place at just the right time, along with managing to keep us out of the craziness of the other tour vehicles.

The tenting Accommodations were better than ok and so nice not to have to put up and take down our own tents!!! The public camp grounds were busier but still enjoyable.. Peter, Benedict and Innocent did a fantastic job with the food especially when you seen how limited their facilities were, they fed us very well and my daughter's gluten free diet was well catered too.

We did get to see the wilderbeest in the Northern Serengeti, watching all those animals follow each other around the hills, seems they would cover a lot of ground in one day. (When we got to Kenya there was the river crossing at Masi Mara was somewhat disappointing as the tourist industry has had an effect on that with all the vehicles rushing in to see them cross the river.)

Tanzania was our favourite tour, the landscapes so varied at times, the animal viewing was exceptional and the guides superb.

My sister and I had the most amazing Kenya safari experience organised by African Safaris. Tracy knew exactly what we wanted and delivered - choosing conservancies to ensure we had a unique experience with a few like minded others, avoiding the over crowded tourist spots. Everything was perfectly organised and planned, with a range of accommodations from the more adventurous to luxurious to allow us to experience the best of Kenya. If you are going to Africa you must use African Safaris as the specialist in this area!

Tracy and Claire organised an awesome trip for my wife and I with a group of friends through Zimbabwe and Botswana. The game experiences exceeded all our expectations. While the accommodation, quality of the guides and the schedule that ran like clockwork were the icing on the cake. They listened to what we wanted from our trip and really delivered with their recommendations and the organisation. When we go back to Africa we won’t hesitate to give them a call. Thanks so much for a great time!

This is the second trip Trace and Claire have organised for me. Like the first, they gave great recommendations and valuable advise. I had such a brilliant time in South Africa and like Trace said, I probably will return.  Thanks Trace and African Safari's for another wonderful trip that I will remember for years to come. You guys have fabulous knowledge and this shows in the amazing time people have when they book with you!

From my first conversation with Claire in 2015 to the organisation a year later of our August/ Sept 2017 month long trip by Tracy, to Rwanda, Kenya , Botswana and Victoria Falls , African Safaris surpassed our expectations. Tracey planned our trip of a lifetime! Accommodation was varied and always comfortable, transfers seamless (mostly, as borders are unpredictable) and animal sightings extraordinary.  The guides in the camps are knowledgeable and do their best to ensure one has the best possible experience, and the food was amazing everywhere we went from adventure camping to the lodges. We always felt safe and well looked after.  Thanks Tracy, what we thought was going to be our only trip to Africa has only wetted our appetites for more! Perhaps Namibia and South Africa next! And we will come back to African Safaris!

What an incredible adventure!  Our trip was without doubt the best family experience we have ever had.  Each location offered a different experience and each day was a new discovery.  There are so many memories to recount. The helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, watching Elephants swim the Chobe river at sunset, wild dogs chasing Khudu, Lions mating, a leopard with her cub - the list is endless!!

The best was left till the end when we embarked on our 5 day private guided camping safari in the Okavango Delta. That was pure magic and brought us so close to nature. Yes the early morning starts in near zero temperatures were a challenge, but within 30 minutes that would be forgotten as we sat speechless looking at whatever new animal our guide had found for us. And how close did we get !!

The only word to describe it was 'surreal', and we cant recommend it enough to anyone contemplating an African Safari. The trip went exactly as planned - pickups were as scheduled and travel was so well organised. Thank you for making it so easy.  I have attached a few photo's that encapsulate the essence of the trip. Hope you like them! Once again thanks for organising such a smooth and exciting trip.

It’s truly amazing how much the whole experience has left its mark on me. I find myself thinking about Africa everyday (mainly the people, places and animals). Everything about the safari was awesome and it’s an experience I will never forget for as long as I live. I definitely want to go back someday and see what else Africa has to offer. What you and Allison prepared and arranged for us was great and I could not have done it better if I tried.
While the whole trip was brilliant, the highlight for me would have been the Botswana part. Staying in Savute under canvas was magical and the guys who looked after us there were so friendly and accommodating. The food was some of the best of the entire trip. Consequently this is the place where we saw the most animals. Our Ranger at this camp, Mork, was awesome and really went out of his way to ensure we saw as much as we could. His sundowner spots were top notch and a great place to enjoy a drink while watching the African sun disappear over the horizon.
I am in the process of sorting through all of my photos, I took quite a lot, so I shall send some through as soon as I can.
Once again thanks for all of your organising and booking of activities, it was the best trip I have ever had.

The safari was amazing your recommendations for Elephant camp and Chobe princess were perfect we really did get the best.  We loved the camps and the people running them.  Our guides were amazing and we really got to know them over our short stay.  We saw all the animals we wanted.  And got great encounters and close to them.   We loved every moment of it and it was perfect in length and the accommodation and food was amazing.  Again thank you for organising such a fantastic trip for us.

Nic and I went to East Africa with no set requirements of what we had to see or do. And yet, you know, we saw the ‘big five’! And we saw lots more – an abundance of giraffe, zebra, hippos, wildebeest, elephants, lions (including a hunt which resulted in a kill of 3 zebra and the pride feeding their 12 cubs!), gazelle, impala, cheetah, leopard (with its killed antelope above it in a tree), warthog, vultures, lots of beautiful birds, and too many more to mention.

But, really, it wasn’t just about the animals. The East African people, the beautiful birds, and the landscapes and sunsets were just as appealing.  Everyone was superb. The whole experience was uplifting.

If I had listened too much to some people here in Auckland before I went I could have been dissuaded from going. Now I cannot stop telling friends and family!  It is hard to not fall in love with East Africa.

Tracy, where to start, what a wonderful tour!!

The sheer number and variety of wildlife we saw, and the in-depth knowledge shared by Moses and Wayne, our guides, ensured we were not left wanting. Their easy demeanour allowed us all to have a fun-filled interactive experience and we learned a lot about the animals and surrounding environment as a result. Each place had its different landscapes, from arid treeless expanses to heavily wooded shrubland, with vast horizons and amazing skies aplenty. We would fully recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience Botswana’s wildlife and ecosystems at their best. The staff were outstanding and the hospitality shown was greatly appreciated. From an amazing breakfast selection right through to the 3 course dinners every evening – we were spoilt for choice. We’ve attached a couple of our favourite photos – still too many to go through at this stage – but hope you like them. A reminder for this time of year is that layering of clothing is a must – mornings are brisk in the open-sided vehicles and evenings are very cool, however, the daytime temperatures were lovely. A great touch that the vehicle provided ru
