Day 1 and 2 - Flatdogs Camp, South Luangwa National Park
Fully Inclusive

On arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport you will be met by a representative and will be transferred by light aircraft to Mfuwe Airport and transferred by road to Flatdogs Camp.

Bordering the Luangwa River, the northern and southern Luangwa National Parks contain some of the most breathtaking and untouched wilderness in Africa. As a result of this and the parks’ successful anti-poaching campaigns, the area has developed into a world-renowned wildlife haven. The South Luangwa National Park is renowned for its walking safari, which allows visitors to view elephant, hippo and even lion close-up under the supervision of professional and knowledgeable armed guides.

The South Luangwa National Park is one of the last great wildlife wonders of the world. It is nine thousand square kilometers (3,475 square miles) of pristine wilderness in Zambia‘s Eastern Province. The South Luangwa has been visited by wildlife enthusiasts from all over the world since its creation as a National Park in 1972. The Luangwa offers a safari experience unmatched by any other destination, allowing year round access, open game viewing vehicles, walking safaris and night game drives. However, due to the remoteness of the Park and the difficulties of operating so far from anywhere, the cost of a safari has been prohibitive to many people. Flatdogs Camp is now here and the Luangwa Valley and all of its magic is open to everyone!

Day 3, 4 and 5 - Lion Camp, South Luangwa National Park
Fully Inclusive

You will be transferred by road from Flatdogs Camp to Lion Camp

Lion Camp is located 40km upstream from the main Mfuwe gate, inside the South Luangwa National Park. It is situated on the banks of an oxbow lagoon or “wafwa” of the Luangwa River. The lodge looks out onto open grassland which is frequented by grazing mammals during day time, and becomes a hunting ground for lions by night.

Accommodation at Lion Camp is in luxurious canvas and thatch chalets. Built on raised wooden platforms, they are linked to each other and to the main area by a raised wooden boardwalk.

The chalets have either a four poster king-size double bed or twin beds with a walk-in mosquito net. Each chalet is en-suite with a private deck overlooking the open plain in front.

The central area has a bar, curio shop and small library.

Activities include walking safaris and open 4 x 4 game drives with knowledgeable and experienced local guides.

Day 6, 7 and 8 - Chongwe River Camp, Lower Zambezi
Fully Inclusive

You will be transferred by a light aircraft from Lion Camp to Chongwe River Camp.

Chongwe River Camp is situated on the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers, directly opposite Mana. The Chongwe River is the boundary of the Lower Zambezi National Park, a 4000 km² sanctuary, teeming with game and considered to be one of Africa’s most picturesque wilderness areas.

Chongwe is a luxury bush camp that offers a non-intrusive enjoyment of wildlife, in a relaxed, natural setting. The chalets are large, well-appointed Mulati tents under thatch, with a luxury open-air en- suite bathroom under a canopy of Albida thorn trees and surrounded by cool lawns. Each tent sleeps two people, in twin or double beds.

Enormous herds of elephant are often seen at the river’s edge. The park also hosts good populations of lion, leopard and wild dog. The Chongwe River demarcates the western boundary of the park. Furthermore, one does not have to leave the camp to see and hear a wide variety of wildlife.

There is so much to do at Chongwe River Camp. The game viewing is exceptional, and few other places can give you the choice of game drives in open safari vehicles, guided walking, canoeing or motor boating. Fishing is also a popular option. Be sure to stay for a few days to take advantage of all these opportunities, and remember also to allow time just to relax and enjoy the views from the camp.

Day 9 and 10 - Chundukwa River Lodge, Livingstone (Victoria Falls)
Breakfast

You will be transferred by a light aircraft from Chongwe River Camp to Chundukwa River Lodge.

Situated on the grassy banks of the Zambezi River just 25 km upstream from the mighty Victoria Falls, our elevated open-fronted chalets boast stunning views of the Zambezi River. We are located in a game-rich area and sightings of hippo and elephant among other animals are common. There is also an abundance of plant and birdlife to be found surrounding the lodge and although the sounds of the bush might briefly keep you awake; this is short-lived as their chatter soon softens to a unique African lullaby.

With a maximum of 10 guests in camp, we ensure a personalised service and advice on planning your stay in order to maximise your time in this beautiful corner of Zambia. Our lodge is built in local fashion and blends in perfectly with its surroundings thus providing our guests with comfort and privacy. All our chalets have uninterrupted river views, mosquito nets and fans. The main lodge comprises of 5 rustic, open-fronted stilted chalets: 1 family unit, 2 double/ twin rooms and 1 honeymoon suite.

The Victoria Falls region has become the premier adventure hotspot of Africa with a multitude of activities to suit every traveller. Some of the most popular are elephant back safaris, exploring the local craft market for African treasures and taking a helicopter flight over the mile-wide Victoria Falls. Of course, guided walking safaris and game drives are activities not to be missed. Game drives take place in 4x4 safari vehicles, providing guests with the chance to see big game and enjoy a buffet meal on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Those seeking adventure will enjoy adrenaline-pumping white water rafting in the river or taking a horseback ride through areas with a high concentration of game and beautiful scenery.

Guests can choose from a host of activities available from the lodge and in and around Livingstone including canoe trips, horse trails and tiger fishing not to mention a guided tour of the Victoria Falls and a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. These can all be pre-booked or booked directly at the lodge.

Day 11 - Safari Ends in Livingstone, Zambia

You will be transferred by road to Livingstone Airport for you to connect with your onward international flight.
