15-day Gorillas and the Serengeti

This combination safari is made up of a 6-day Uganda Lodge Safari and a 8-day Tanzania Authentic Camping Safari.

The following is a brief itinerary for a combination safari including Gorilla trekking, chimpanzees on Ngamba Island, game and birdlife in Uganda's Lake Mburo National Park. The journey then continues to Tanzania where you will enjoy a fully backed up mobile camping safari ‘Authentic style' in private campsites with a full crew to look after you. The camp is set up before your arrival, with full service and superb cuisine in pristine areas. Nights will be spent in National Parks including game viewing in Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti - with time available for a balloon safari (optional) as well as a one way scenic flight from the Serengeti back to Arusha.

Day 1 - Arrive Entebbe. Airport transfer. Ngamba Island Chimpanzee sanctuary excursion. BB

Day 2 - Drive or fly to Bwindi (or Rwanda, depending on where permits are held) to overnight at our lodge. FB

Day 3 - Gorilla tracking this morning (optional) or forest walk. Afternoon relax or explore local area on foot. FB

Day 4 - Optional second gorilla tracking or forest walk etc. Overnight Bwindi / Rwanda.

Day 5 - Drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Afternoon game drive of boat trip on the lake, or walk with local guide. Overnight tented camp or lodge. FB

Day 6 - Return to Entebbe via local markets etc, arrive late afternoon. Overnight Entebbe hotel, dinner for own account. FB

Day 7 - This morning transfer by boat to Ngamba Island, time to explore the area, and also opportunity to do either chimpanzee forest walk, or partake in the ‘Caregiver' programme. Overnight Ngamba. FB

Day 8 - Morning boat transfer to Entebbe for a morning flight to Nairobi (flight not included.) And on to Kilimanjaro airport. Met on arrival and transferred by road to Arusha to overnight hotel, breakfast only included. BB

Day 9 - After breakfast met at hotel, briefing on safari before heading off to Tarangire National Park for game viewing - picnic lunch included. Depart after the day in the park to Lake Manyara to your private campsite, where your camp crew will have set up your camp and be waiting to greet you with a welcome drink! BD

Day 10 - Full day of game viewing in the Lake Manyara National Park, overnight Lake Manyara at private campsite. FB

Day 11 - Today we head off early to Ngorongoro, pausing to admire the view from the crater rim before descending into the caldera for some spectacular game viewing. Picnic lunch. Overnight private mobile tented camp on the edge of the crater. FB

Day 12 - Continue this morning to the Serengeti, game drive en route to Olduvai. Continue to the Serengeti to overnight either in our Wilderness camp, or at our private mobile camp FB

Day 13 - Full day in the Serengeti (balloon safari optional, but must be pre booked). Serengeti. FB

Day 14 - Another full day in the Serengeti (balloon safari optional, but must be pre booked). Overnight Serengeti. FB

Day 15 - Depart after breakfast to Arusha, either by air on scenic flight (optional), or by road (by road you will only arrive late in the day). End of arrangements. BB
